The Wyrd Investigator
My name is Scott Drinkel and I have the nickname "the Wyrd Investigator".
My name is Scott Drinkel and I have the nickname "the Wyrd Investigator". Wyrd (pronounced Wee-rd) is thought to be the origin of our modern day word 'Weird'. It is also an integral part of ancient Northern European traditions and can be (very tenuously) likened to Fate or Karma. As Paranormal Investigators follow up reports on many 'weird' sightings and experiences I think this nickname sits quite well! I am a 36 Year old Aeronautical Engineer by trade and in my spare time I carry out Paranormal Investigations. I am currently located in Fife, Scotland but I do travel a bit! I do not charge for my services or assistance and know of no reputable investigators who do so. Paranormal Investigation is still not classed as a ‘real’ science and to date there is little,if any, irrefutable proof of anything ‘paranormal’ in our world. That said though there are many cases that have been investigated that have no clear conclusion, but they are still not explained away as ‘Paranormal’ (nor should they be!). Many people think that Paranormal Investigators believe 100% in various unusual or unbelievable phenomena and go out of their way to prove the existence of such. This is not true. I personally believe in some (not all) aspects that create the field of Paranormal Investigation. I feel, for example, I have seen people I know have passed over but that aspect of myself does not enter the equation when I am on an investigation. The purpose of an investigation is to find proof and evidence of what is actually causing the phenomena, so I become very sceptical until I have hard evidence in front of me. More often than not, cases can be explained as something logical and tangible, a measurable force of a generally mundane nature rather than manipulation by the 'other side', but there have been some cases that simply defy belief! There are many groups of Paranormal enthusiasts and each one will operate slightly differently to another. Some regularly use mediums, specialise in single types of investigations or phenomena, host events or other 'quirks' that individualise that group. Because of this diversity, I urge you - if you feel the need to call upon a Paranormal Investigator or Group - do some research into them. Each group will be able to offer something different to you. If they use a medium, get the medium's name and do some research via the local Spiritualist churches. If you witness or are experiencing specific phenomena, make sure you are confident that the group you approach has the knowledge base and equipment available to meet your needs. By carrying out research from more than one source, you can be confident that your case will be investigated professionally and thoroughly by a group you are confident working with and who will be sympathetic to your requirements. So what makes me a Paranormal Investigator then? I have been interested in all aspects of the vast field of what is covered by Paranormal Investigators - Ghosts, Spirits, Strange Creatures, Big Cats, UFO's and their occupants and Psychic Abilities - since I was very young. It was a small step from there to start actively researching these various aspects of the 'Paranormal' world so I have been building my knowledge base for around 25 years. I have been involved with many people with 'psychic' abilities at various levels and been investigating various phenomena for around 10 years. I have also studied with the Manchester Association for Paranormal Investigation and Training (MAPIT) over a couple of years to become classed by MAPIT as an "Advanced Investigator".
I am continually furthering my studies with various learning bodies as I love everything about this field and quite simply feel you can never learn too much!.....Scott Drinkel Useful Links
